Actually your wrong about that. Twilight Princess was originally supposed to be Nintendo breathing new life into the GameCube. Remember in 2005 Nintendo called Sony stupid for releasing a new console and then in 2006 they announced the Wii. After that announcement Twilight Princess was nearly complete so they decided to port it over and improve what they could and create controls that worked well for it on the Wii. According to some devs the Wii and GC are basically the same techwize so it was an easy port for Nintendo to do. Oh and before you question this. The Wii technically speaking should have been quite easy to come up with for internal hardware. It is basically took nothing but a few phone calls to IBM and ATI to setup production lines. The WiiMote was probably in development for a while but I doubt Nintendo was planning on releasing a new console till now because logically it would have made more sense for Sony to ride their PS2 wave a bit longer. Sorry to say Nintendo, at least used to, thinks Sony is a more worthy opponent then Microsoft in the console race. I know this paragraph has no purpose in this thread but figured I would throw it out as its slightly relevant. |
I meant "isn't quite" in the sense that they came out at the same time, which would technically make it a multiplatform release. That was all I meant.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
