I cannot figure out why people are having a difficult time with this story.

Sony has a machine that is harder to develop for and is selling more slowly that what others are offering.

Of course Sony is having to "plead" with third-party developers. (Plead being a play-on-words here of course). Also, as has been stated, Sony needs third-party developers. Its three recent first-party titles all have issues (poor quality of Lair, shortness of Heavenly Sword, patches/mutli-player only nature of on Warhark) which have limited their sales.

Just remember, before the Wii was released, Nintendo had to "plead" with third-party developmers because no one wanted to do games for "the next Gamecube." And I am sure that Microsoft has had to "plead" with third-party developers just to get them to do games for the system.

It is all part of the business.

Since the success of Wii is now evident to every1, Nntendo are not pleading at all. Developers are jumping at it.

Same for 360. The devs are happy to produce for it due to good sales.

The PS3 though is struggling which is why Sony are on their knees to them. Many devs are reluctant to spend their time with it so readily.
