bugrimmar you are right in your observation.
The difference between Xbox and PS2 was bigger, but no one cared. In this gen the 10% performance difference between the PS3 and X360 has been made into a huge thing - despite the PS3 launching a whole year later!
Sony really succeeded in their marketing of the Cell. Unfortunately. I don't like this mythos.
