No Sony executive or third-party developer is going to publicly say something like this, so you will never see a real quote from them. That does not mean it's "just interpretation."
Dean Takahashi is a journalist with the San Jose Mercury News, not some random kid who writes for a gaming site. He is both well respected and well connected.
