Yes but, for a company it does some damage. At the time it was associating Sony to cruelty to animals, whether you're "feint" of heart or not, any CEO of a company will tell you they wouldn't like this type of association.
But this was a long time ago when Sony was internally chaotic and bad press was the order of the day. Things have changed a lot since then, they wouldn't do that again. Though I don't blame them for thinking it was good idea just by some of the responses in this thread.
