Some people, like me, already have the basics (LGA 775 mobo, PCIEx 16 slot, 250 gig HD, Windows XP OEM, KEYBOARD, MOUSE, 2.0GHz E2180 processor [sure, not the fastest but I havent had any issues with it just yet]), all thats needed is a better psu, and a 4850 or 9800 and I should be able to run RE5 max at 1024x768 on my 15 inch monitor, which in my case would cost about $170, less than a PSP, but graphics to rival/exceed a 360/PS3. PC gaming isnt as elitist as it sounds, not everyone can afford Core i7s and GTXs. Take a look at Steams hardware survery. The average machine aint that beefy. And PC games are $20 cheaper most of the time, most PC games cost $40, most console games cost $60. |
This is very interesting! I find it very curious that you live in one of the poorest countries in the world but you're discussing just like someone who has Western world reference points about what level of gaming hardware is commonly affordable to people, what is seen as too expensive, what is luxury etc, when it comes to PC's and gaming. :)
Could you tell us more about your perspective on the subject of gaming and owning PCs in the context of living in Africa, and in relation to the people in your immediate surroundings, and people in general in Zambia? And what's your economical situation, whats the references in your mind etc.
