Honestly, the spat between EA and Dana White is bad for everyone ...
Being that they see yearly releases, it is best for the genre to have a couple of big competitors that are on (somewhat) equal footing ensure that the best game possible is being made; the end result of this is that the high quality of these games would translate into more UFC fans buying the videogames, and more videogame fans becomming interested in the UFC. With EA making an non-UFC branded MMA game this has the double effect of hurting the potential sales of EA's game regardless of the quality, locking users into the existing UFC branded game regardless of the quality, and informing people about competitive MMA leagues outside of the UFC.
