How often do top boxing cards happen? Maybe once or twice a year? Not enough to match the growth of UFC, which is more important in the larger scale of things.
About the only problem with doing almost monthly major fight cards would be a lack of compelling bouts on a consistent basis. But with the expanding pool of up and coming fighters, it looks sustainable for the time being.
And last year's top PPV:
1. Boxing: Oscar De La Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao, Dec. 6, 1,250,000
was surpassed by UFC 100 which sold over 1.5m.
And for that, Dana White will be base jumping off the top of the Mandalay Bay casino.
