Yes, because the best thing to do in the middle of a recession when people can't afford to buy new hardware, and are refusing to upgrade, is to release newer and more expensive hardware.

Yes Samuel, you're right, no one can afford now another system. This is why ms is going to release natal, it's much better release a add-on than releasing an entirly new console because of motion control.

When I meant next gen around the corner I meant that it'll be here 2 to 4 years from now. Also Natal is going to fail. Remember the sega CD? 32x?Add ons don't expand the systems lifetime. And saying that they can't afford it is false. 360 came what 4 years after the first X box and what it was more expensive also it sold well. I hope that explains it.

But the problem with those ones were that Sega didn't supported they properly with software, and they were released pretty near the time of release of Sega Saturn. Natal is a completely different thing since it isn't a hardware upgrade with add-on, it's new controller that promises to be like an evolution of motion control. Also MS is already claiming Natal as their next-gen console, they made it secure saying "next gen won't be hardware, but services on current systems" thing.
