Why I think Sony could drop 100 dollars on the PS3 and profit from it.

Goddog came in with some knowledge to drop down on the table and did so without insulting the thread creator. His info also seems very possible too but we won't know any of this until Sony either confirms or denies these rumors. To be honest I don't see how anyone says it isn't true when it was said by Sony themselves.

do i have to say it again, you don't know where that 70% came from.  Yes they said it, but it is a percentage that is not backed by a known number. 

Well if it is 70% since the first revision that would be pretty damn good.

If this is 70% since the supposed initial price of ~$840 then it is still good.

 

Even if the PS3 initially cost $1000 to make, which i doubt, it would be down to $300 with the 70% reduction estimate given right?

 

 

What do people really think the PS3 originally cost or from what price point do you think the 70% is reduced from?
