I'm big on reducing barriers for legitimate customers. I think a game should be available both physically and digitally on the first day or release. Segregating it seems a bit silly as you're selling the exact same product. Offer choice and let them choose, that way customers and retailers are kept happy at the same time.

Selling the exact same product would be requiring internet authentication like a PC game.  That would eliminate used games and rentals.  Next generation only E for everyone should not require authentication.
