Do you honestly think they were pitting Little King's Story against Gears of War and Call of Duty either? Wii Fit and Mario & Sonic are blockbusters, top selling in their genres both on the Wii and among all consoles. The big shooter games (Halo, Gears) are high selling games, but they don't head the market. You should be blaming the games that head the market, especially since most of the popular shooters aren't on the Wii and wouldn't be providing competition to LKS anyways.

Why is Mario & Sonic a blockbuster title which heads the market and Halo 3 is not?

Mario & Sonic has sold more (across Wii and DS), and is the highest selling non-bundled game in its genre. Wii Sports is the highest selling sports game this gen, but we don't know what its true sales potential is.
