The now infamous John Williams "Wii will sell 60 million by the end of 2008" comes to mind.

Surprisingly, nobody seemed to dig that one up when it turned out to be about 15 million short, making it the least accurate prediction on VGC for annual Wii sales. 

Yeah but he was kind of a joke, i mean everyone knew his predictions were always gonna be out there.  He knew how to make predictions and be entertaining without being an arrogant ass.  There are certain people on here that don't know how to do that.

It was a bit tongue in cheek, but I think he actually believed there was a chance and I fully expected him to make a lengthy post about it as well as another prediction for 2009 had it been a lot closer to the actual number.
