You kind of just proved your detractors right with your own post. How much have the console Pokemon games sold compared to the handheld iterations? It's a similar thing with Monster Hunter. Only 2 Wii games have outsold Monster Hunter Freedom Portable 2nd G in Japan, and I doubt Monster Hunter 3 will be one of them. It will definitely outsell the first, and has a good chance at the second, however.

Except the console Pokemons are all spin offs while MH3 is the next in the main series.
But these titles just do better on handhelds regardless.

There have been a lot of spinoffs and remakes on the handhelds, and most of them sold like candy. Point is, they're not going to reach a similar audience size with a transition to another demographic and another console.
