The Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery. And I'm also basing my statement on how key execs in SE have stated that they were trying to turn their attention to 'capturing the American audiance'. And it should come as no coincidence as to why they bought out Edios following these trends, as well as making such bold high budget attempts on the 360.

They need to start looking towards titles with a more global appeal, or even titles with a stronger japanese appeal, because a lot of their games aren't exactly lighting up the charts over there also. The point is to be known for the name, and be able to branch out from there. Look at their model, Capcom, they can make shooters, RPGs, racers, action titles, adventure titles, platformers, whatever and still be entirely Capcom. |
While they have yet to make a new 'killer app', that is not the goal they are setting for themselves. And that is the way most of the companies that are around today got started, including Capcom. They had one or two major hits that pushed their company into the foreground and made their companies name synonymous with a product (in the case of Capcom, it was Mega Man and later, Street Fighter). The point the person who was being interviewed was making was, his company has made successful games in the past (such as Harvest Moon). But now the games that are coming out aren't selling well because no one is connecting it to anything. No one connects 'Marvelous Interactive' to any product or brand (or idea). Harvest Moon has already produced 20+ titles over the years. Yet it doesn't have the same name brand recognition to tie it to the company such as a Zelda or Resident Evil or Castlevania.
That's what Marvelous needs to do.
