The wii can have a bunch of people on the screen. Dummy. The grinder proves that

He didn't claim the Wii couldn't have a bunch, just not loads. And The Grinder's 65 (although I have yet to see such a screenshot) just doubles his 30, not the several hundred that HD systems have shown.

Well, while we're on the subject yet again, the 'amount of people' you can have on screen is entirely dependant on the type of game it is.  If its a 2D sprite based game, the Wii could easily handle 100 characters all at once.  The PS2 and even Dreamcast could do this, and so can the Wii.  It just depends on what kind of complex interaction you are trying to do with the sprites and the environment (as well as how well the game is programmed).

But even more than this, look at a game like Pikmin on the GameCube.  At times, you have well over 100 'units' on the screen (100 Pikmin + Olimar +  multiple large enemies + items + environmental objects).  And the game runs fine.  And that game is a 3D polygon based game.  If the GameCube could run a 3D based game with over 100 objects, the Wii can do so as well.  Its just all based on your programmers and game design.

That too (which is why I get annoyed when people compare dissimilar games). If it meant enemies with independent AI (assuming The Grinder is like that), then the HD systems can have more, because of their multi-core processors (but how good the AI is still depends on the developer).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
