Red Steel 2 Now Shipping In 2010
Ubisoft's first-person shooter won't be coming this Christmas.
July 27, 2009 - Talk about a bad news day for Ubisoft.
The company announced this morning that it saw at 50% decrease in first quarter sales, as well as a number of game delays.
Red Steel 2, which originally was scheduled for release this calendar year, is now being pushed to fourth quarter fiscal year 2009-10, which begins on January 1, 2010.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot isn't happy about the delays, but says the company is thinking about its beneficial long-term effects.
"We are disappointed that we have to postpone the release of several major games but we consider that this choice is the best one in the long-term interests of Ubisoft," he said.
SUCKS! But if they need to delay it, I'd rather they make the game right than release it half-baked. What could they be doing? Local multiplayer maybe??
