What he did that no one else does is look at consumers. He said "Ahh, the Wii is selling because they value something that the other consoles (or other medias) do not offer." This is very consumer focused.
Many people argue that Sony has the most value because of all the stuff they have. But, the consumer doesn't care about them. We know that most people can not tell the difference between standard and high definition, so the main value of the PS3 (HD graphics and Blu-Ray) are not what the consumers value. No, they just want a fun game that's easy to pick up. Wii Sports provides that. Mario Kart Wii provides that. Customers are smart as they only buy what they want to buy (at least in entertainment). If something is selling better then something else, there is a reason.
