No, I don't think that it's going to be that much better. For one, it's not shipping with a new input device, so it's stuck using the same ol' balance board.
Now I've heard some very good things about how fun the balance minigames are for WFP, but I think I'm going to pick it up primarily for the ability to program exercise routines. I'd probably give it a pass if Nintendo wasn't selling it so cheap.
