Totally agree Video_Gamma_Critic, I personally have the dead zone the smallest possible and also have the turning speed set to 100. Have no problems turning at all and don't even bother using the turn button. There's no need to.
Any reviewers that've criticised the controls just haven't played the game properly or explored the on-the-fly customisation. I'm still astounded that it's got such a low Metascore, some of the reviews have been seriously over harsh imo...particularly in Europe for some reason.
