I like to see the impact that sales may or may not have on future titles and development. As gamers we may not like to admit it, but sales drive the market in every way. They influence everything the market does, so it is very important (IMO) because it shapes what the future may hold for the industry we love.
.......I also like to brag when my favorite console/title is doing well.....or react poorly when it is doing not so well. Just being honest.
