| stof said: Oh look. Kylie Dog is complaining about an upcoming Wii game. Is it that time of minute yet? And he's using the standard "I refuse to believe there will be anything in the game that I haven't just watched in a video" You don't know what the enemies and combat/escaping will be like as the game progresses. So why do you just assume that Konami's trying to reboot their series with a horribly repetitive and lame version that strips out all fun? But I must share your sentiment. I don't know if I can enjoy a Silent Hill game without the traditional near broken combat. Really, did anyone actually enjoy the fighting gameplay in SH 2? I want my scares to come from the game's atmosphere and creatures, not from panicking as my combat doesn't work properly. |
I don't know about Silent Hill 2, but the environment and such from Silent Hill 1 and 3 spooked my friend and I on a few occassions. The school locker room from Silent Hill 1 scared the crap out of me when that body fell out of the locker.
I'd say it's a mixed bag for me. I'd rather not spend my time fighting a combat system, but I'm not sure about the lack of an ability to fight. Will you get some kind of defensive move or something other than shaking off enemies? Games that have you constantly fleeing like Clocktower 3 and Haunting Ground for example still allow you some form of defense in the form of throwing holy water or kicking and having a dog defend you.
Still... I'm not that interested in horror games anyway.
