Wait, I thought we were talking about America here? This is the thread about America numbers, after all. Oh well, I suppose it's fine for you to spin what numbers we're talking about to fit your argument. Worldwide Year over Year: Wii down 190k 360 down 34k PS3 down 61k DS down 120k PSP down 135k Argue all you want, but none of the consoles are doing that great if they're all seeing massive decreases year over year. You could argue that the economy is hurting them, but that wouldn't cause a nearly 200k drop in Wii sales. Point? 360's the only one that's really doing that well. And your point sucks. Sorry, no spin there. It sucks.

I beg to differ. When gas prices hit record highs last year, motorists in the US cut the miles driven per month significantly month over month. You have millions of people losing theirs jobs since then, people are forced to use their savings, so it makes sense that luxury items take a hit. The entire auto industry is shit as well, not to mention the trickle down effect from other job losses as well.
Now I agree with the 200k part. I'd say it's half and half economy plus lack of software. I just bought 2 Wii games for the first time since September, and the games came out last year. :P Battle Revolution and ToS:DoTNW. Lack of software isn't very encouraging to potential consumers, also when the 360 is $200 and the Wii is $250. :D
