Well, Itoi's last game was when? 13 years ago? and apart from FF12 I haven't really played any of Matsuno's works yet (asuming you are talking about Yasumi Matsuno)

And when I think of Schafer I think of the golden ages of PC gaming and not really of consoles.

Mother 3 came out only a couple of years ago - excellent game, I imported a copy and everything. Matsuno's other works include the Ogre (Battle, Tactics) saga, the original FFT, Vagrant Story... I love everything he's done.

And don't forget Psychonauts, and the upcoming Brutal Legend for Mr. Schafer.
