Thats just the way the Wii is marketted. Dont have a go at this guy, blame Nintendo for sending out that message to people.

360 gets awesome adverts for games like Gears and Resident Evil. (action/ "Hardcore" stuff)

PS3 gets adverts for... erm... well... yaknow.

Wii gets adverts with familys sat around the TV playing Big Beach Sports...

Nintendo sends out adverts with families playing Big Beach Sports? A third party title?

Also I don't see how any of that correlates to the real issue in the article, which is that somehow action movies and mass market movies/broader audience movies are not the exact same thing, because I believe they are. I can show you how Transformers is an action movie and has a massive audience of children and adults alike, is being marketed to children, and currently has a rating of PG-13, similiar to many horror movies and other action movies.

this is the correct answer bcoz i said the exact same thing. Films are made for PG ratings and therefore always cut and chopped down to satisfy mainstream audiences.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
