Contrary to your thought process, the Orange Box IS a great value even if you already own HL2 and HL2: EP1.
Even if you missed the pre-purchase discount, where the total package costs $45, it still only now costs $50 on Steam or retail for PC. $50 for HL2: Ep2 ($30 alone, that's also what Ep1 cost when it came out alone), TF2 ($30 alone), and Portal ($20 alone)? Great deal for anybody!
Throw in HL2 and EP1 for those who didn't own them before, and of course it's the best deal in ages...but for you and me it's still unbeatable. So I don't see why people like you talk about "boycotting" the Orange Box.
It's doing a favor for those who never got to play HL2 and Ep1...it's not doing a disservice to you like you think it is. Besides, you're free to give them to a friend over Steam. I gave mine to Dolla Dolla...hopefully he's enjoying the games hehe.
