I'll be surprised if Microsoft doesn't "revise" their offerings going into the holidays -- perhaps with a monstrous Hd-DVD add-on deal or something like that. I know MS wants to get to a point of profit and I suspect they will want to ride out the holidays and try to bank as much as possible and then act after the new year. They would then have at least 1 quarter of solid profitability and something to show to shareholders. They would also have to act and be able to justify it based on Sony's hemorraging money and having to stay in the race with them. Also, make no mistake... with Sony's fresh price cuts, they are burning some serious cash. The financials will be interesting indeed....


Yeah, I'm wondering if Sony will revise their estimates on Oct 25. I just don't see how they can maintain the financials with constant price cutting. We'll find out in a week if they are going to be honest or try to hide the truth again.
