It's the Nintendo Catch-22.
If Nintendo does it first they tend to dominate that segment and developers/publisher bitch that they can't compete with Nintendo so they rarely even try.
If Nintendo doesn't put much effort into a segment, developers/publishers tend to bitch if Nintendo isn't going to bother why should they.
So they look for Nintendo to lead and then bitch when they do and then can't be assed to do it themselves when provided the opportunity.
Sven was spot on until he opened his mouth at the end and competely reduced Capcom's initially logical position to that of a whining baby.
