I see the authors point.
But the question he has to ask himself is ho well these story driven games will sell on the wii? Not very well, because the audience isn't on that console. Publishers might make a profit due to putting little emphasis on the graphics though, since it seems to make 10-25$ million more on HD games because of that.

This I'm not so sure of. Wii hasn't received any of the big name franchises yet, so until the main franchise RE, or GTA, or any other big franchise releases on Wii this is all heresay. It is already fact that Wii sells the most software. But more importantly, if the Core gaming market isn't able to sustain these type of games, then maybe it that demographic you speak of isn't worth saving.

To be fair though, there have been more resident evil releases on the wii than the ps360 combined. Even dead rising, another zombie action game series went to the system.

I would then say it is bogus to say that the wii doesn't get any core series. After all, it is getting an overlord game, a dead space shooter, and the obligatory madden and other sports titles.

Developers still want to support the system that sells the most hardware.. But this gen is a little different. Instead of having 3 consoles a developer can port their game to easily, it's either develope ps360, or wii. And the simple fact is that ps360 sells way more software than the wii. And that increases when you take out first party titles. (and wii sports which is counted as a bought title for some reason)

Most of the games you mentioned are spin offs or ports. I was talking main series, franchises. The RE games you speak of are two rail shooters and a port of a last gen classic (definitive version sure but still a last gen port) and the Maddens thus far have been PS2 ports with waggle added. I just don't see the same amount of resources being used to support the Wii as the other consoles thus far. This is changing so we'll see what happens.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
