GCN lost in storage size because Nintendo has always been retarded when it came about media for the most part even with the Wii not supporting dual-layer in the begining until brawl came out. that 1.4gb restriction really fucked some games on content or texture detail because not every dev was using S3TC so a lot of games would look like shit(smeared to hell,) that and TEV was not easy to master of course.
