"The industry" does not need a PS3 price drop; the PS3 needs a PS3 price drop.

Unfortunately, this is one of those times when what is good for a console is not necessarily good for its maker. Depending on who you ask, Sony is either still losing money on every PS3 it sells or just barely breaking even. Having already squandered the earnings of the PS1 and PS2 on this, they are in no position to afford a price drop right now, and this is why it will not happen. If things were different -if Sony could actually afford to cut the price- it would have happened well before now.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
