Mehh vgs numbers should be taken with skepticism at best.

They always change numers secretly with out any reasoning.

There is some truth is your message -- but not necessarily your tone.

You are ignoring the fact that everything is based upon estimation. NPD, GfK, Famistu, etc., are all making estimates based upon available data.  And unless you really beleive that the Xbox outsold the DS/DSi in the UK in the first half of 2009, then there is evidence that the for-payment tracking firms also change their numbers.

Publishers can only tell you how many of an item are shipped (physically) or sold (electronically). They cannot give you total sales because they don't know how many copies are in route and on store shelves.

That all being said, the previous answers have given a plausible explanation for the VGC numbers.

Also, your comments -- and those made by others about the numbers -- makes me wonder why some people come to this site.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
