@ NJ5, that wasn't a massive benefit, remember that because of that late launch, there were no European PS3 sales at all for allmost 3 months worth of 2007.
by the way in another thread i worked out the numbers for 360 vs PS3 for the first 3 calender quarters (Jan through Sept).
360 total for 2005 = 1.18 million
360 for Jan 2006 through Sept 2006 = 3.48 million
360 for Oct 2006 through Dec 2006 = 3.16 million
360 for Jan 2007 through Sept 2007 = 3.66 million
------
PS3 total for 2006 = 1.23 million
PS3 for Jan2007 through Sept2007 = 3.65 million
______
Interesting to note that from launch to January PS3 managed 1.23M to 360s 1.18 despite only 2 regions
PS3s first three full quarters it managed 3.65M to 360s 3.48
And for this year 360 and PS3 were incredibly close up to the end of the third quarter (or the second quarter financially)
----
Those three facts make me think you are wrong about your PS3 prediction The Source, because the PS3 has done better overall in it's first year than the 360 did, so it should manage more than the 7.8 million that the 360 was at before 2007 started. (slightly over 8M has been my number for a long time)
Beat that The Source you analyst god.
