Why is it so hard to have a rational discussion?

So do most people behave very differently on forums then in real life? I am the same in both, but maybe that just shows that I am old. Is 40 old for this site?

Yes, people act much differently on the internet due to it's anonymity. For example, I'd never say my comment "welcome to the internet, sir" in real life becuase I'd sound like an asshole. But on the internet where people make derogatory comments every other sentence, I sound relatively mild.  

Um, I feel a little better, I guess, maybe...nope still seeing a bleak future.
