I know many people want to try and hang their hat on the likes of Halo in view of possibly helping Xbox dominate the market...but this is a bit naive if you ask me.
Halo will help sell some consoles and might prove valuable in the long run, but not because Halo is able to drive sales solely on it's own: The true silver-lining for Microsoft is the fact that they will pick up more sales due to Sony's inept attempts with PS3.
Unless Sony is able to overtake 360 ( but with the continued loss of third party exclusives, it looks doubtful ) I think M$ is in the console market for another round.
Otherwise, I think with nearly five billion in the red with only projections of --SEVEN-- years being needed to turn any profit for the gaming division as a whole, Microsoft would remove itself from the market.
