Wiik 41 2007, The sale of the Wii.

Hi all. MrStickball makes a post every week about the week for the 360. I thought it would be nice to have such post about the Wii, or the PS3 (kber? or any other PS3 fan?). It will be my first, so bare with me a little, but I hope I will better week after week (if you all are intrested).

America - or what the hell is...

The Wii sold 95,800 units this week. It got again outsold by the 360.

#1 What is Bleach: Shattered Blade? Nobody seem to had it on their list, but it is #2 on the Wii Top game list.

#2 Zelda:TP should reach 2 Million sold in America next week.

#3 The Donkey Kong revival bommed, hard. No wonder, considering the review score.

#4 Resident Evil4 has good legs. I can see a revival next if RE:UC come out

#5 Metroid is dropping quite fast, considering it review scores and it is coming from Nintendo. Maybe it gets a revival at Christmas, but I would say that isn't good news for the Hardcore on the Wii.

Overall a weak week for software on the Wii. No wonder, no really new big thing hits the Wii, that should change in the end of October/Begin of November. The hardware should be about 95k next week, no big titles are coming to give Nintendo (or shops holding some back) reason to release those units.

Japan

The Wii Sold 19,660 units this week. Hardware sales are still flat in Japan. That should change with Galaxy, but will most likely be around the same next week.

#1 Wii Sports and Play both are up 10% despite a dropp in the hardware.

#2 DragonBall Z has quite a bumb this week.

 

Europe

The Wii sold 75,033 units in the other countrys. Thats up about 12k more than last week. It got outsold by the PS3 the first time since the release of the PS3. People in this forum are reporting that the Wii is hard to get in the UK. Amazon is backing them up, however UK seems to be the only country with supply issues. The question is if UK get backs to "normal" or if the supply issues will spread around Europe with the release of MP3 right around the corner. For the next week I would expect lower unit sold. 68k seems about right.
