First you cant upgrade from xp to 7, only vista to 7. *Back up any file or folder you want to keep*
download the Rc or a leaked build such as 7600.16385 ( note this build cannot use the rc keys)
Either burn the iso or place the files inside the iso in a flash drive ( at least 4gb) . you can extract the files with winrar.

use this to make the flsh drive bootable.
now place the dvd or flsh drive in the computer.
restart your computer and selct the boot menu from the bios, this can be doen by pressing f8 -f12, mine is f8.
select your dvd drive or flash drive.
let it load. now you have to click custom and click on advanced options. Make sure you format your hard drive, this will erase all your data.
if you do it from the flash drive it should finish in 15 minutes, dvd about 25-30 minutes.
now you will have windows 7 x64, restore your fils and install your apps.
hope this helps
