Also sega was overtracking this? They were happy...

Sega has shareholders to placate, much like any other major software publisher. As most should recall, they stated they were "happy" with sales of Mad World as well.

And no, the game was not made on a budget of a nickel and milk bottle pog as some would have you believe either.

Just keep waiting as this is an ongoing story here. But as of right now, the preliminary data seems to support what many have already acknowledged in regards to the Wii market. There just isn't a huge demand among the vast majority of Wii owners for games like the Conduit.

Unless fans of the game want to suddenly change their tune and go on record as saying there are fundamental problems with the game that are keeping Wii players starving for core FPS shooters from buying it, the numbers would seem to speak for themselves.

And developing larger budget games for a fractional niche market doesn't make particularly great financial sense, so this could put a question mark for developers interested in targeting the same core niche with a larger effort, higher budget project.

While Conduit still stands good odds of breaking even if not grinding out a profit, it's far from the coup that core gamers on the Wii were expecting/hoping for.
