I think people focus too heavily on the features of a game rather than the quality of a game when they review them, which is why I have seen so many people have such completely different reactions to games than their review score would indicate ...
I could be wrong, but I have a growing feeling that reviewers don't tend to be able to put much time when they're reviewing a game in local multiplayer because of lack of people to play with which is why certain games seem to get "unfair" reviews; and can explain why so many people still buy these "poor" quality games. For many people playing games on the Wii is a very social event and they're often playing with 3 or more other people so how enjoyable a game is in a local multiplayer setting is all that matters ...
