People are just looking for areas to throw the race card. It is pathetic and silly. You only drive racism further by continuously making it a big deal. And by finding it in places where it doesn't exist... well now you are just creating tensions for no reason.

Seriously, Louisiana is, I believe, one of the only states where there are more black people than white people.

For some odd reason I want to say South Carolina as well but can't confirm that.  Not sure if Louisiana is dominant black though but a larger percentage than most states.

I remember seeing something on the news during the 2000 census where they said there was 1% more black people than white people.

South Carolina had more slaves than white people in the Civil War. I remember that, but I don't know much about SC.

According to the US Census Bureau Louisiana is 65.1% white, and 31.9% black.

The US in general is 80.0% white, and 12.8% black.
