Assuming that The Conduit was on a similar budget to House of The Dead Overkill and the sales figures for the States are accurate I'd say that they're halfway to making a profit after only 2 weeks sales in 1 territory. House of The Dead Overkill made a profit after selling over 300,000 worldwide and I can see them selling over 300,000 units of The Conduit worldwide perhaps in the first month. I think it'll go gold before Christmas and is a certainty of going platinum imo.
One thing I found interesting was the wording above the partially ruined Jefferson monument, not going to say what it is but I'm going to look for similar disguised messages in English elsewhere now that I'm replaying the levels to find all of the data discs and alien writings I missed the first time round. After that I'm probably going to play it through again several times on all difficulties. I haven't enjoyed a game so much in years, particularly online. It's a bloody shame that it's been so harshly reviewed by some.
I really can't wait for The Grinder, it's going to be awesome.
I'd say 2011 for the sequel might be about right, and I reckon we'll have vehicles on the online multiplayer too! The Quantum3 engine has come along in leaps and bounds since The Conduit and The Grinder is looking stunning, and by the time The Conduit 2 is released we should be seeing even more impressive 'HD console' visual effects.
