No, I didn't like Eternal Darkness.

The story was unengaging and I didn't find interest in it. The gameplay was pretty boring as well. The combat was archaic to say the least and I didn't find myself in awe or enjoyment of anything. I finished it because I didn't want my money to go to waste, but after I did complete it, I left it abandoned in a cardboard box, never to be used again.

People kept going on about how great it was but I found it boring and uninspiring. Nostalgia of that 2002 game is blurring their vision because besides the Sanity effects, it was pointless for me to play. I could've bought something else with my $10, so yes it seriously was not worth it.

Don't mistake people having fun with a game you found un-fun as "nostalgia [...] blurring their vision". I played Eternal Darkness again a few weeks ago and it was still fantastic. I don't take issue with you not liking it, we all have different tastes, but don't go so far as to call my taste into question.

I agree with this.  I am playing Eternal Darkness at the moment for the first time since when i first got it and it's still great.  Sure the graphics have aged (it did start as a N64 game) and the control is a little clunky but it's original and still holds up remarkably well. Admittedly, and this was also true at the time of it's release, it's not everyone's cup of tea.
