You're right, I stand corrected. I really thought that Lufia was owned by Nintendo, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Lufia: The Ruins of Lore for the GBA had almost the same reception as the SNES games had. I personally think that the story could be different if they had released Lufia: The Ruin Chaser for the PS instead of Lufia: The Legend Returns for the GBC, being that the PSX had the main JRPG crowd of that time, it would have made a bigger impact and garner more fans to the series, IMO, shame that the original developer for Ruin Chaser went out of business.
Edit - Actually only the first Lufia was the only one published only by Taito, Lufia II was published both by Taito, Nintendo and Natsume, so in theory, Nintendo still owns the rights to Lufia 2, if they didn't sell them to Taito.
