Yes the marketing is a very interesting topic.
Thats where I am most suprised, I grew up with Nintendo had my first Nintendo game with Game&Watch in 1980 (I think) and when Sony came with PS and blew Nintendo out of the way I was so Impressed with their marketing.
I was hoping Nintendo would learn something from that and respond the gen after but then Sony stepped it up a bit and Nintendo didn´t seem to have learnt their marketing lesson they should have.
This gen I was expecting a fierce marketing battle between all three and I was happy Nintendo did their homework and excelled at it but then came Sony and I haven´t got a clue what happened there.
Their marketing was godawful and they seemed to have forgotten the skills they had from PS1 and PS2 era and I still can´t explain it today what has happened to Sony in the marketing department it´s just a mystery to me, The masters have become the grasshoper somehow.
If you or anyone else has an explanation I am more then glad to take part of it.
