@the two guys above: The same goes for France, Britain, Italy, Poland, etc. The European Union is a single market and is working together way more closely than you guys would imagine, not only in an economic but also in a political way.
Besides that this really misses the point of this thread. If you want to get some facts straight that's ok but you shouldn't overestimate your countries influence. 
That being said the law still won't make it 
These ideas are mainly brought up by the extremely conservative politicians to gain some attention. It's a shame such people are actually getting votes but what shall we do? That's life
