The British version had been way overpriced compared to the US and even Euro-land. Now with the dollar falling even further against the pound and euro, they can't hold that extreme pricepoint they had at launch. GBP 390 is still nearly $800!

I dont think US or Euro will see a price drop anytime soon.

Totally...at the moment, the general public can get $1.95 to the £pound.  The current RRP in the UK is £425 (which includes VAT at 17.5%) which means that the PS3 is £361 excluding VAT.  The US price is $599 not including TAX.

£361 converted into dollars is $704 compared to the US price of $599...so why don't they drop the UK price by $100 to be comparable.

If we were to pay the US $ price along with VAT on top we would be getting charged: £360 for the console which is a whopping £65 off the RRP.

And I have been working out the exchange rate based on the GP rate, not the bank conversion rate that is over £2.00 to the £pound.

Get a grip Sony.
