Compare it to Halo 1 then. Why did that sell so well? It was a new IP. Being a new IP is not an excuse for selling poorly (or somewhat poorly anyway).
Thing is though; first off, no one expected The Conduit to sell that much (not even the most hardcore Wii fan in here did) and secondly; the OP seems suspiciously like a joke.
