Neither. From what I understand, it's essentially XBLA's version of Bubble Bobble Plus (the WiiWare title), which means it's 1) a remake of the original featuring new sprites, and 2) and extra 100 levels added on, which also feature 4-Player support. I don't think there are any real differences between the versions, although someone may pove me wrong. Also, the reaction to Bubble Bobble Plus has been more positive than negative (7 people on this site liked it, 4 did not), so as a fan you'll probably enjoy it.

So your telling me that there has been a WiiWare title called Bubble Bobble Plus, which was a remake of the NES game with new sprites plus more and I never knew about it?
