If we assume these sats have any merit, this isn't really a surprise. Wii Sports sold a lot of systems to people who wouldn't normally want a video game system and aside from Wario Ware and Brain Age (both very over priced IMO) and Mario Party 8, all of which are now old news, there has been nothing to cater to this new found crowd, who as noted above, are casual gamers at best anyhow.
But this is where WiiFit comes in, then Wii Music, then Wii motorsports... Eventually 3rd parties will start catering to this crowd too and there won't be long periods without games for this crowd anymore.
