I think that Gamespot is better off without Gerstmann. If you look back at his reviews and the forum reactions while he was at Gamespot you will notice lots of people who were unhappy with both his scores (on all platforms) and sloppy writing. However, if the reason why they reportedly fired him is true that is just wrong. They should have just said they were firing him for being a poor reviewer right after he gave a AAA game a high score.
Either way his reviews at GiantBomb aren't very good and not just because he scores games I like low. He never justifies his scores well enough or goes into enough detail about the game IMO.
